Three timber rowboats sit in the foreground of a calm lake, their bows pointing up and out of the frame towards the viewer. The hulls are bright orange and yellow inside, with red along the outer sides and slatted wooden seats. The boats fill the bottom edge of the picture, drawing the eye into the water behind them.
Across the lake, dark green conifers line both shores and a rugged mountain range rises under a blue sky with thin streaks of cloud. A single steep-roofed building stands among the trees at the far shore. The water mirrors the peaks, trees and sky almost perfectly, and the whole scene is a sharp, saturated photograph in blue, green and orange.
