Three horses gallop side by side across open sand, heads lifted and legs mid-stride. On the left is a dark bay with a black mane, in the middle a glossy chestnut, and on the right a pale palomino with a white blaze and a flowing cream mane. Their coats catch the light and stand out against the dusty ground.
Hooves kick up a thick, soft cloud of tan dust that fills the lower half of the frame and drifts behind the horses. Above, a sky of slate blue and mauve cloud fades into a warm haze near the horizon. It is a sharp, high-detail photograph, with the motion shown in the swirling sand and the streaming mane and tail.
