Long ridges of wet sand run diagonally across the whole frame, curving and tapering like ribbons. Between them, shallow water lies flat and dark, holding deep navy and blue tones. The view is close and from above, so there is no horizon, only pattern and texture.
Low light catches the tops of the ridges and gives them a warm brown-gold edge against the cool water. Pale reflections of sky show in the upper left and top right. It is a photograph, and the contrast between warm sand and blue water carries the image.
