A black and white photograph of Tower Bridge in London, taken from the river's edge in a portrait frame. The two Gothic towers rise with pointed turrets, small windows and carved stonework, and the high-level walkway crosses between them. The stone pier base sits low in the frame, with the lower deck running out to the right.
The sky is a heavy, overcast grey with darker cloud gathering across the top of the frame. The Thames fills the bottom third, its dark surface rippled and carrying soft reflections of the pier. A faint sepia warmth in the tones softens the greys, and distant buildings and a small boat sit at the edges of the horizon.
