A long-exposure night photograph of the Palace of Westminster seen from the road of Westminster Bridge. The Gothic facade is lit in warm gold, its pinnacles and spires reaching into a near-black sky. At the right stands the clock tower, Big Ben, with a bright white clock face and a green-lit roof section just below the spire.
In the foreground the bridge road cuts across the frame, marked with white lane lines and arrows. Streaks of blue, white and red light from passing traffic run along the left and right, while a starburst of light flares in front of the central tower. The dark sky and deep road shadows make the gold stonework glow.
