A black and white photograph, with a faint warm sepia tone, of the Houses of Parliament in London seen from the roadway of Westminster Bridge. The long Gothic facade runs across the frame, its spires, pinnacles and rows of narrow windows sharply detailed. The clock tower of Big Ben rises at the right edge, its clock face clearly visible.
Heavy storm clouds fill the upper half, with a bright break of light behind the central tower and dark, billowing masses at the corners. A Union Jack flies from the left tower. Along the pavement a small group of pedestrians walks past a lamp post, while the road in the foreground carries white lane markings and a few cars sit near the far end.
