A windsurfer leans back mid-turn on the face of a breaking wave, the green and yellow sail angled sharply across the left of the frame. The rider is small against the swell, which gives the scene its sense of scale and force. Spray streams off the lip of the wave in a long white plume.
Above the horizon, a band of amber and gold sky is streaked with thin cloud. Below it the open water is a deep navy, shifting to teal inside the wave, while a line of white foam fills the bottom edge. It is a photograph with strong contrast between the warm sky and cool sea.
