About Crimson Wing Butterfly
A single large butterfly sits slightly off-centre on a portrait canvas, its four wings spread in deep crimson and cherry red. Fine white lines loop and scribble across each wing, tracing veins, eye spots and edge markings, with a darker red body running down the middle and two thin black antennae curving up to the left. The background moves from pale grey and cream at the top left through warm yellow into orange along the right edge, softened with sprayed haze.
Scattered details animate the surface: red and white paint spatters, small drawn circles in black and grey, and soft dark smudges near the lower edge. The overall character is graphic and light-hearted, a bold red shape floating on a warm, worked ground.
