About The Gallery
The whole frame is filled with a close-mown putting green, printed in flat grass green that shifts from bright lime near the ball to darker olive in the corners. A brass-headed putter enters from the top left on a steep diagonal, its silver shaft catching light, the head resting behind a dimpled white golf ball that casts a small shadow. A black oval hole sits high in the frame. Four green frogs, stippled with olive and yellow markings, crouch on the turf at right, watching the ball with amber eyes.
The speckled texture of the mown grass is rendered in fine dotted detail, while the frogs' backs carry warty highlights and soft shadow beneath their bellies. The character is dry and comic: a putt lined up in front of an attentive amphibian gallery, painted straight-faced rather than cartoonish.
A natural fit for a home office, games room, bar area or study where golf gets talked about, and light enough in mood for a teenager's bedroom. It works against white, grey or timber-panelled walls, and pairs well with leather chairs, framed course maps or other sporting prints. The strong green reads best with warm neutral furnishings. My wife already had a couple of pieces of custom ordered paintings she had collected throughout the last few years and with your large selection to choose from she found the perfect complimentary piece to finish off her room.
