About Formations IX
A single white iceberg sits low in the lower third of a tall portrait composition, its angled peak rising just past centre. The ice is rendered in chalky white with patches of slate and navy mottling where the surface breaks into facets, and a smaller flat shelf of ice drifts to the left, touching the canvas edge. Above it, a wide field of pale powder blue fills two thirds of the frame, streaked with faint cloudy mottling. A muted grey-blue band of water runs along the base, with a small dark outcrop at the lower right.
The most distinctive element is a thin grey line drawn over the right side of the berg, outlining the shape of a second iceberg like a diagram laid across the scene. That single graphic mark gives the work its quiet, considered character: part cool seascape, part study in shape and negative space.
Works in a bedroom above a bed head, a beach house hallway or a home office where you want cool, calm colour rather than pattern. Sits well with white or pale grey walls, linen bedding, blond timber and woven textures. Pairs with another print from the same series to form a two-piece set.
