About Sydney at Night
The Sydney skyline sits low across the frame, viewed from the water with the dark harbour occupying the bottom third. Office towers glow gold and white, with pink and violet lighting on the taller buildings at right and the red-tipped Sydney Tower rising at the left. Pale teal searchlight beams fan upward from the city and spread across the sky. Above, a deep navy-to-black gradient is dotted with faint stars. At the far right the white shells of the Opera House catch warm light beside the shore.
The harbour water is almost still, holding soft reflections of the coloured lights along the foreshore. Trees and low buildings form a dark band between the water and the towers, broken by strings of small lights and a few moored boats. Colour is saturated but the scene stays calm, with long exposure smoothing the water to a matte surface. The overall character is quiet and wide open: a familiar city viewed from a distance, more atmosphere than detail.
Suits a living room above a low sideboard, a home office, or a dining wall where the deep navy reads well against white or grey paint. Pairs with charcoal upholstery, black metal frames, timber floors and warm lamp light. Works as a single large statement or beside other city night photographs.
