About Autumn Pond
A portrait view into a stand of autumn trees, with slim dark trunks rising through a screen of foliage that shifts from deep green at the centre to bright yellow and burnt orange on both sides. Light appears to come from behind the trees, making the leaves glow while the trunks and branches read as near-black silhouettes. A small patch of red sits low in the undergrowth. Below, a band of olive and tan grass separates the trees from a shallow pond.
The water fills the lower third, catching a soft yellow reflection and the broken vertical lines of two trunks. Edges are soft and slightly blurred, with flecks of colour suggesting scattered leaves rather than crisp detail throughout.
Warm enough for a living room with tan leather, timber or rattan, and calm enough for a bedroom above a bed head. The vertical shape suits narrow walls, hallway ends and the space beside a bookcase in a home office. Pairs with linen, brass lamps and indoor greenery. The quality of the work is ten out of ten. The piece was affordable and the turnaround time was quite quick. What you see is what you get. I’ll definitely be getting my next painting from Direct Art Australia.
My wife already had a couple of pieces of custom ordered paintings she had collected throughout the last few years and with your large selection to choose from she found the perfect complimentary piece to finish off her room.
