About Autumn Shadows II
A square watercolour landscape built in three bands. Along the top, a row of slender trees rises into a pale aqua and cream sky, their canopies stippled in olive, chartreuse and warm yellow with bare trunks showing through. Beneath them runs a dark umber band of scrub and low bushes, drawn with fine dry-brush flecks. The lower half opens into a broad wash of dusty pink, sand and putty tones that pools and bleeds toward the bottom edge.
The paper grain and watery blooms are clearly visible, with feathered edges where the pink wash meets the cream and small runs of pigment along the base. Nothing is sharply defined; the trees dissolve into light at the centre where the sky glows brightest. The character is quiet and slightly faded, like an autumn field seen through morning haze.
Suits a bedroom above a bed head, a living room shelf wall, or a home office where you want calm rather than contrast. The dusty pink and sand tones pair with oak and rattan furniture, linen bedding and cream walls, and it hangs well as a square pair with a second watercolour of similar tone.
