About Blooming Friendship
Nine tulips stand across a warm background that shifts from amber yellow at the centre to deeper orange at the edges. Five blooms are orange to rust red, two are creamy white with soft grey shadows between the petals, and one at the right opens wide to show pink inner petals and a cluster of dark stamens. Two slim olive stems carry pale green unopened buds, one at centre and one at upper right. The tall closed tulip at top left is painted in flat blended orange with fine vertical striping.
The stems are thin and slightly uneven, cropped by the lower edge so the flowers appear to grow up into the frame. Brushwork is smooth and blended in the petals, with looser sweeping strokes in the background that leave faint radiating streaks of yellow. The overall character is warm and decorative, simple in layout but confident in colour.
Suits a dining room wall above a sideboard, a kitchen nook, or a hallway that needs warmth. The amber background works with timber furniture, rattan, terracotta pots and cream walls, and picks up rust or burnt-orange cushions. In wide sizes it fills the space above a long buffet or a bedhead. Browse more floral art, orange art, the Statton Collection.
