A square wine label design reads "Burgundy" in a dark plum script across the top, with "GRAND VIN" in olive green capitals beneath. Lower down sit "CHATEAU DE ROUGE" in plum, a slanted "1956" in olive, and "Produit de France" and "750 ml" along the bottom edge in a thin plum script.
A bunch of plump purple-red grapes hangs down the right side, rendered with soft shading and a drop shadow, with veined green leaves at its edge. Behind the text, a pale gold engraving shows trees and a hillside village with a bridge on a cream, slightly textured ground.
