About Chaotic Fun
Broad vertical columns of amber and ochre drop through the centre of this square canvas, their edges dragged downward so the paint reads like curtains of pigment. To the left, cobalt blue and white break into flecked, broken marks with small touches of crimson. The right side shifts into burnt orange and rust, interrupted by a dark charcoal block scraped back to show colour underneath. Across the upper quarter, a band of violet, white and black runs horizontally like a distant shoreline, with thick knife-loaded strokes catching the light.
The painting balances heat and coolness: warm falling ochres against sharp blue and white interruptions, with texture that sits raised in places and thin and scraped in others.
Suits a lounge room with white or grey walls, above a low sideboard or a leather sofa, where the amber picks up timber floors and tan furniture. Works well in an entry hall as a single square statement, or in a dining space paired with black metal light fittings and plain linen.
