About Cherry Blossom Moon
Dark, angular branches spread across a square grey field, entering from the top left and reaching down to the lower right corner. They carry dense clusters of small white and cream blossoms, each flower dotted with a soft yellow centre and flecked with maroon buds along the twigs. Behind the branches a pale circle of light sits to the upper right, a moon veiled in mist. The background is washed in layered greys and warm taupe, streaked vertically as if the colour has run, with faint scratchy marks and pale speckles scattered through the lower half.
The mood is quiet and slightly weathered, closer to old ink work than a bright floral. Contrast between the near-black branch lines and the scattered white blossom gives the square a calm, graphic balance.
Suits a bedroom above the bedhead, a hallway or a dining room with grey, taupe or off-white walls. The square format works over a low sideboard or a bench seat.
