About Colored Curtain
The canvas is filled edge to edge with narrow vertical bands that fall like fabric pleats. A broken white and pale lilac ground carries streaks of red, orange, yellow, soft green and light blue, each one pulled from top to bottom in a single downward stroke. Some bands are dense and saturated, others are little more than a scrape of dry pigment over white. Ragged breaks and bleeds occur where wet colour has run, leaving short drips and pale gaps between the stripes.
There is no figure, horizon or focal point, only rhythm and colour temperature shifting across the width. The overall character is bright and loose, with warm reds and oranges concentrated through the centre and cooler blues scattered near the edges.
Works above a sideboard in a white or grey-walled living room, behind a dining table, or along a hallway where its vertical rhythm suits the passage. Pairs with pale timber, linen upholstery and brass or chrome fittings. The warm reds and oranges lift rooms with neutral flooring and plain curtains without competing with patterned furnishings.
