About Lofoten Lake House
A small red timber cabin with a dark roof stands on a low rise in the middle distance, its shape repeated almost exactly in the glassy pool below. The water fills the lower half of the frame in deep blue and near-black, edged by thick tussocks of rust and gold winter grass that lean into the foreground. To the left, a grey shoreline curves out to pale sea, with a dark ridged mountain rising behind it. Heavy blue-grey cloud streaks across the upper sky, lit faintly near the horizon.
The picture turns on one point of red in a field of blue and gold, and holds a quiet, cold, early-morning stillness rather than drama.
