About Teal Dancer Collage
A single step-through bicycle sits side-on across the width of the canvas, built from layered paper pieces rather than continuous lines. The frame, handlebar stem and chain guard are a soft teal blue, with faint printed text and numerals showing through the cut edges. The two wheels are formed from wide bands of brown and gold-flecked paper, with dark hubs and a small chainring at the centre. A tan saddle tilts above the rear wheel and thin dark cables curl from the handlebars.
The background is assembled from horizontal strips of taupe, sand, grey and warm brown, including torn book pages, ruled paper and patches of silver and white. Small initials appear in the lower right corner. The overall effect is calm and textural, an everyday bicycle turned into a quiet study of paper, tone and edge.
Works in a hallway, bedroom or beach house living area where walls are white, oatmeal or pale grey. The teal frame lifts linen sofas, rattan chairs and timber sideboards, and the brown and gold wheels suit jute rugs. A good fit above a bench seat, in a home office, or in a cycling enthusiast's room. Browse more blue art, brown and earthy art, or read Art above the bed: what size and how high.
