About Dancer in White
A single dancer fills the portrait format, caught mid-turn with one arm thrown up and her head tipped back. The background is a flat sand-beige ground with faint dry-edged marks and dusty brown washes drifting behind her. Her hair is a dark, near-black sweep that fans out in loose splatters and fine points to the right of her head. The skirt is the brightest passage: thick white strokes that curl outward like water, edged with translucent grey and dotted with scattered white flecks across the lower half of the image.
The character here is movement caught fast and left unfinished, the face barely indicated so the eye follows the spin of the white skirt instead.
Suits a bedroom above a bed head, a hallway, or a dressing area where the warm beige ground echoes linen, rattan and oak. Works in beach house and contemporary interiors with tan leather, limewash walls and cream bedding. Pairs well with other earthy abstracts, or hang alone on a wide neutral wall.
