About Dancing Ribbons
Three dancers move left to right across a square composition, each in a red sleeveless top and pale cream trousers with soft flat shoes. A single scarlet ribbon loops through the scene, curling down to the floor at the lower left and flying out past the right edge in a long ribbed band. The background is a sweep of warm brown and ochre, scratched and streaked with darker passages, while the lower quarter is a pale cream floor carrying faint reversed lettering and a few flicked red spatters.
The figures are blurred and only partly resolved, as though caught mid-turn, so the eye follows the ribbon rather than any face. The effect is energetic and theatrical, built on the single contrast of red against earthy brown.
Suits a living room above a low sideboard, a dining wall, or a home office where a single strong red accent is wanted. Works with brown leather, walnut timber, cream walls and natural linen.
