About Delightful Swirl II
Two large spiral forms anchor this portrait canvas. One sits in the upper left, cropped by the edge, built from loose concentric rings in dusty pink, mauve and white. The second sits lower right and is tighter and darker, its rings winding into a small dark red centre ringed with near black. Behind them the surface splits into blocks of colour: rust orange across the top right, soft pink through the middle band, and a deep crimson panel at the bottom left.
Raised white lines run horizontally across the canvas, breaking the bands apart and catching the light where the paint stands proud of the surface. The overall character is calm but warm, with the spinning circles giving the flat colour fields a slow sense of movement.
Works in a living room above a low sideboard, in a dining room with timber furniture, or in a bedroom where the dusty pink softens the red. Pairs with terracotta pots, leather chairs, jute rugs and warm white walls. The vertical shape suits a narrow wall beside a doorway or in a hallway.
