About Delray Sea Turtle I
A green sea turtle fills the centre of this square image, swimming to the right with its front flipper raised high and the rear flippers trailing behind. The shell is drawn as a grid of soft-edged plates in moss green, olive and deep teal, with small white flecks left as bare canvas. The head and flippers carry dark speckles over pale grey-green. Below and to the right, a small blue fish with a spotted body drifts past thin, spindly strands of seaweed.
The background is washed watercolour: pale aqua and white at the top where light breaks the surface, deepening into denim blue and indigo toward the lower half, with visible bloom marks and water runs. The effect is quiet and airy rather than detailed, with the turtle holding the eye and everything else fading into wash.
Suits beach houses, bathrooms and coastal bedrooms, and works well in a kids' room or a nursery. Pair it with rattan, whitewashed timber, linen bedding and pale blue tiles. It hangs neatly above a bathtub, a chest of drawers or a single bed, and sits well beside a second square marine print.
