About Early Snow
Two large clusters of trees fill the upper half of this square composition, their canopies built from soft, grainy patches of golden yellow that deepen to burnt orange where the branches meet the ground. Between and behind them sit darker olive and grey-green conifers, half dissolved into a hazy sky of pale pink, cream and mauve. The lower third is an open field of snow rendered in chalky lilac and off-white, broken by small flecks of rust and charcoal marking exposed scrub and twigs at the treeline.
Edges are deliberately blurred, as though seen through cold morning air, and the texture reads as dry pigment rubbed into a soft surface rather than crisp detail. The character is quiet and slightly wistful: warm autumn colour caught by the first cold snap, with the heat of the foliage set against the cool lavender ground.
Suits a living room with warm timber floors, a bedroom above a bed dressed in cream or dusty pink linen, or a home office wall that needs colour without noise. It pairs with mushroom, oatmeal and soft grey walls, brass lamps, rattan and pale oak furniture, and other loose landscape or botanical prints.
