About Elements of Earth
The canvas is divided into two blocks of warm colour: a deep brick red filling the upper two thirds and a lighter orange band across the lower third, meeting in a straight horizon line. Three small marks sit against this ground. A flat blue bar, brushed with visible horizontal strokes, floats in the upper half. Just above the horizon, a little rectangle is broken into three panels of green, blue and ochre, like a tiled window. Below and to the left, a gold spiral is drawn in thick paint with a dark outline.
The whole surface carries a raised, crinkled texture, with fine ridges running in every direction and catching the light. The character is quiet and symbolic: a handful of small signs placed on a large field of earth colour, more suggestion than statement.
Warm and graphic enough to anchor a neutral hallway, a dining room with timber furniture, or a bedroom with linen and clay tones. It works beside terracotta pots, rattan and brass, and lifts white or pale grey walls. Hang it as a single vertical piece where the small blue bar sits near eye level. The quality of the work is ten out of ten. The piece was affordable and the turnaround time was quite quick. What you see is what you get. I’ll definitely be getting my next painting from Direct Art Australia.
My wife already had a couple of pieces of custom ordered paintings she had collected throughout the last few years and with your large selection to choose from she found the perfect complimentary piece to finish off her room.
