About Embroidered Prism Collage VI
A single faceted mass floats near the centre of a plain cream field. It is built from triangular and pentagonal panels cut from printed map paper, some showing faint street grids, contour lines and small place names in tiny type. The facets alternate between burnt orange-red, pale sky blue, soft peach and cool grey, with a few darker charcoal planes at the centre suggesting depth. Over the left half, a web of thin red lines runs corner to corner like stitched thread, forming its own open polyhedral cage across the collaged shape.
The character is quiet and diagrammatic: part crystal, part cartographic puzzle, with a lot of empty cream space giving the form room to sit.
Works in a home office above a desk, a hallway, or a bedroom where the cream ground keeps walls feeling open. It sits well against white, chalk or pale grey paint, and pairs with light oak or walnut furniture, brass lamps and a rust or denim-blue cushion picking up the red and pale blue facets.
