About Formations V
A tall portrait composition given over almost entirely to a soft, washy sky that shifts from warm butter yellow at the top to near-cream at the horizon. Along the bottom third, pale grey-blue rock forms rise from both sides like the shoulders of a gorge, their faces built from broad flat planes with fine grey shading and streaks of white. Between them sits a wedge of flat ochre ground, crossed by a single thin dark line that curves away like a track or dry creek bed.
The mood is quiet and pared back, closer to a diagram of a landscape than a literal view. The empty yellow sky carries most of the picture, so the small dark path reads as the one point of detail and holds the eye.
Suits bedrooms, bathrooms and home offices where you want calm rather than colour. The warm yellow works with cream walls, oak and rattan furniture, linen bedding and pale stone tiles. Hang it as a single portrait piece above a bedside table or console, or pair it with another print from the same series. Browse more yellow art, multi-coloured art, or read Art above the bed: what size and how high.

The quality of the work is ten out of ten. The piece was affordable and the turnaround time was quite quick. What you see is what you get. I’ll definitely be getting my next painting from Direct Art Australia.
My wife already had a couple of pieces of custom ordered paintings she had collected throughout the last few years and with your large selection to choose from she found the perfect complimentary piece to finish off her room.
