About Golden Buddha One
A seated Buddha fills most of the upright canvas, painted in gold and bronze tones against a plain ochre background that lightens behind the head and darkens toward the lower corners. The right hand is raised at chest height with thumb and forefinger touching, while the left rests palm-up on the crossed legs. Robes fall in broad diagonal folds across the chest and left shoulder, catching pale cream highlights along each ridge. The curled hair is built up in small rounded knobs above a smooth forehead.
The mood is quiet and still: eyes lowered, mouth softly closed, the whole figure modelled in warm light with no hard shadow. Brushwork is smooth and blended on the face and torso, with slightly thicker strokes describing the fabric edges and the topknot.
Suits a meditation corner, yoga room, hallway entry or bedroom where a calm focal point is wanted. The gold and ochre range sits well with timber furniture, linen bedding, rattan and cream walls, and pairs easily with brass lamps, potted greenery and simple ceramic vessels.
