About Graceful Majesty II
A woman is shown in profile from the chest up, filling most of a flat turquoise background. Her face, neck, shoulder and raised hand are rendered as one solid charcoal-black shape, with a slight streaky variation in the dark tone rather than shading or facial detail. A tall wrapped headscarf sits above, drawn in the same near-black and covered with small white marks: crosses, squares, dots, chevrons, short dashes and open circles arranged in bands across the folds.
Gold is used sparingly and does the work: a ring earring at the jaw, a wide fan-shaped collar necklace of tapered gold bars, and a broad cuff on the wrist of the hand lifted to her chin. A small signature sits at the lower right. The character is calm and graphic, reading as a bold silhouette from across a room while the white headwrap pattern rewards a closer look.
Works in a bedroom above a bed head, in a hallway, a dressing area or a home office with white or pale grey walls. The turquoise ground lifts timber furniture, rattan and brass hardware.
