About Green Bowl with Nandina Leaves
The square image is divided into blocks of flat colour. The large upper left panel is mottled ochre gold, scattered with five sprays of deep red nandina leaves, each with three to five narrow pointed leaflets angled as though falling. To the right, a pale yellow panel holds a wide green bowl shaped like a shallow half circle, its upper band filled with drawn circles and its lower body speckled with fine dots and mottling.
Along the base run three smaller blocks: soft aqua green with a dark stitched line above it, an olive panel carrying a large russet spiral, and a deep brick red panel patterned with small ringed dots. A column of little gold squares separates them. Surfaces show a paper-like grain, uneven washes and soft edges throughout. The character is quiet and decorative, warm autumn colour arranged in calm, orderly compartments.
Suits kitchens, dining rooms and breakfast nooks where warm ochre and red pick up timber tables and terracotta. Works in a bedroom above a low chest, or in a home office against white or oatmeal walls. Pairs with woven baskets, stoneware bowls, olive greens and brass or aged gold accents.
