About Guitar and a Chair
A classical acoustic guitar stands upright against a simple wooden chair, its body resting on a red-brown floor and its neck crossing the chair's back. The soundboard is painted in warm amber and yellow, brightest around the lower bout, with the round soundhole and rosette worked in darker browns and a small pale bridge below it. The chair has a woven rush seat picked out in pale gold strokes, turned legs and slatted back in reddish timber. Behind them the background is a deep green-black, loosely brushed.
This is a quiet, low-lit still life: a single lit object in a dark room, with the guitar's glow carrying all the warmth.
Suits a music room, study or lounge where a guitar or piano already sits, and works over a sideboard in a dining room with dark timber furniture. The amber and deep green read well against cream, olive or charcoal walls, and it pairs with other small still lifes or framed sheet music. Browse more still life, all hand-painted oil paintings.
