About Here and There IV
A square abstract built from layers of broad, sweeping strokes that cross the canvas in every direction. Lime green and soft yellow dominate the field, cut through by bands of mustard ochre and thick, deep violet curves that arc from the upper left down to the lower right. White is used as an active colour rather than background, dragged over earlier marks so patches of green and grey show through. Thin black lines and small flecks of burnt orange sit near the centre, adding sharp punctuation to the softer shapes.
The character is loose and energetic but controlled: the violet strokes give the composition weight and keep the bright yellows and greens anchored. Up close the dry, streaked edges of each stroke stay visible, giving the surface a worked, layered look.
Works in a living room above a low sideboard or pale linen sofa, in a dining room on a white or light grey wall, or in a home office where the lime and violet lift a neutral scheme.
