About Hidden
A woman sits turned slightly forward, one hand raised to the brim of a wide, soft-edged sun hat that tips down and hides her face in shadow. She wears a pale slip dress, drawn with a few sweeping strokes and left half unfinished at the hem. The palette runs through sepia, tan and cream, with washes bleeding down the background like thin, watery drips. Fine dark lines sketch the outline of her shoulder, arm and knee, left visible rather than painted over.
At the lower right a rough patch of deep red and near-black breaks the warm neutral field, the only strong colour in the work. The character here is quiet and unfinished on purpose: a figure caught mid-gesture, more suggestion than description.
Suits a bedroom, dressing area or hallway where the warm sepia and cream tones sit against off-white, limestone or pale timber walls. Pairs with linen bedding, rattan and brass, or a dark timber console. The single red-black mark links it to burgundy cushions, terracotta pots or a rug with rust tones.
