About High Eiffel Tower
The Eiffel Tower is photographed from close to its base, looking almost straight up, so the four legs splay to the outer corners of the square frame and the spire tapers to a fine point near the top edge. The image is reduced to pure black and white, with no grey sky at all: the background is blank white and the ironwork reads as dense black lattice. Rivets, arches, platform railings and the crossed girders of the first and second decks appear as thousands of small dark marks.
Contrast is pushed hard, so the tower looks graphic and almost screen-printed rather than softly photographic. The effect is bold from a distance and highly detailed up close, where the criss-crossing struts and the tiny cross at the very top of the mast become readable.
Works in a hallway, home office or bedroom where a single strong square is wanted above a bench or bedhead. The plain white background keeps it light against pale walls and white joinery.
