About Hold Me
Two dancers fill the square frame in a supported backbend, their bodies forming a long diagonal from the lower left corner to the upper right. The dancer in a pale cream tunic extends one leg far out behind, balanced on the toe of a blush pointe shoe, while her partner leans back over her in a smoky grey-violet wrap, dark hair falling loose towards the floor. The background is a deep brown and olive haze, with a bare, dusty floor catching a soft pool of light beneath them.
There is no scenery or audience, only tone: warm ochres and charcoals blurred into shadow so the lit limbs and shoes carry the whole image. The mood is quiet and intimate rather than theatrical, a held moment of balance and trust between two figures.
Suits a bedroom above a bed head, a formal living room or a home office where the walls are warm white, clay or deep charcoal. It sits well with timber furniture, brass lamps and linen in cream or mushroom. Hang it on its own; the dark ground reads best with a little clear space around it.
