About Igniting Love II
A single large tulip fills the upper two thirds of this portrait composition, its petals flaring open and curling back at the tips. The petals are washed in warm ochre and soft gold, broken by streaks of white and smudges of charcoal grey that run along the folds. A small green mark sits at the flower's centre where the petals meet. Below, a thin grey stem carries two long leaves, one sweeping left and one right, both blotted with watery grey pigment. The background is a flat off-white with faint dry streaks.
The character is quiet and airy: a big bloom rendered in only a few loose washes, with plenty of pale space around it so the gold reads warm rather than bright.
Suits bedrooms, bathrooms and hallways where you want warmth without strong colour. The ochre and grey sit well with white or greige walls, oak and rattan furniture, linen bedding and brushed brass fittings. Hang it as a single portrait piece above a bedhead or console, or pair it with a second botanical print of the same size.
