About Island Mist II
A square composition built from loose watercolour washes that drift across a bare white ground. Through the centre runs a broken horizontal band of charcoal and near-black, thinning at the edges and pooling in two darker clusters, so the image reads like a distant shoreline seen through haze. Above and below it, translucent pools of pale blue-grey, olive and warm sand overlap, with soft-edged blooms and a few rust-brown streaks that bleed downward. The paper texture and the hard-dried edges of each wash are clearly visible.
The character is quiet and atmospheric: colour sits lightly, most of the surface stays white, and the eye settles on that single dark line through the middle.
Suits bedrooms, hallways and coastal or Hamptons-style living rooms where the palette is already white, oat and pale blue. Works above a bed head, a console or a sideboard, and pairs with linen bedding, rattan, weathered timber and soft grey upholstery. Two or three sizes hung together make a calm square grid.
