About Teal Blossom Bough
A single brown trunk rises diagonally from the lower left corner to the upper right, splitting into thin branches that carry dense clusters of white and cream blossoms. Each flower is laid on with a palette knife in three or four thick strokes, with a small rust-orange or brown dot at its centre, so the petals stand proud of the canvas. The background is built from short square knife strokes in teal and jade green on the left, shifting to burnt orange and chocolate brown at the right edge behind the heaviest blossom mass.
The character is decorative and tactile rather than botanical: a wide, calm band of teal with one bold diagonal and a spray of raised white flowers. Seen from an angle the ridged paint catches the light and the blossoms read almost as relief.
The long narrow shape suits a wall above a sofa, a bedhead, or a hallway console. The teal and rust palette works with timber furniture, rattan, cream linen and brass lamps, and lifts a plain white or soft grey wall. Good in a bedroom or open-plan living room where the raised paint catches side light. Browse more floral art, knife paintings, green art.
