About Red Blossom Tree Impasto
A single slender tree rises from the lower centre of the canvas, its dark trunk streaked with black and pale grey, leaning slightly right before splitting into thin branches that fan out to the left. Hundreds of small red blossoms are laid on in short knife strokes, each petal a raised dab with a yellow dot at its centre. The blossoms crowd thickest at the top and thin into scattered single flowers drifting toward the left edge.
The background is built from square, overlapping knife blocks: cool grey and stone on the left, warming through cream and gold behind the trunk, then deep burnt orange and rust on the right. It is a bold, decorative piece, with the texture sitting high enough on the canvas to catch light from across a room.
Suits a living room above a low sofa, a dining wall, or a hallway that needs a single strong colour note. The grey left side settles against pale or concrete-look walls, while the rust half picks up leather, timber and terracotta. Pairs with black metal frames, cream linen and warm timber floors.
