About Lady Elegant Beauty II
A square composition shows a woman from the waist up, turned slightly away, her face hidden beneath the sweeping brim of a wide pink hat. The hat dominates the upper half of the canvas, shaded from deep magenta at the crown to soft rose at the edge, with a cluster of flower shapes and small dark beads pinned at the left side. Short black hair falls across her cheek and shoulder. A fine strand of white pearls sits at her throat, above a pink camisole with thin straps.
The background is a flat warm grey, scuffed with chalky white marks and a loosely drawn white border near the canvas edge. A white glove appears at the lower right, and a signature in white sits in the bottom corner. The mood is quiet and poised, a fashion portrait reduced to silhouette, colour and a single glint of pearls.
