About Lowland Winter Forest
A dense tangle of leafless branches fills the frame in black and white. Two heavier limbs arch out from the left and right, their upper surfaces crusted with moss and lichen that catches the light as bright silver-white, while the undersides fall away into near black. Behind them a web of fine twigs criss-crosses the picture in hundreds of thin pale lines. The edges of the image darken heavily, so the lit centre of the thicket reads as the focal point.
Contrast is pushed hard: pure whites on the mossy bark, deep blacks in the gaps between trunks, and a soft grey haze in the middle distance where the further trees blur. The overall character is moody and slightly gothic, a winter woodland stripped back to line, light and shadow.
Suits a living room with grey or charcoal walls, a home office above a dark timber desk, or a bedroom where you want quiet rather than colour. It works alongside black metal frames, concrete and leather, and sits well with other monochrome nature prints in a stairwell or hallway run.
