About Rainbow Stripe Elephant
A single elephant walks left to right across a plain pale grey ground, its body built entirely from vertical stripes of colour. Turquoise, cobalt, lime green, violet, crimson, orange and black run down the flank, head and legs, with flecks of white and pink breaking the rhythm. The trunk lifts and curls back over the head in a tight loop, still striped to the tip, while two long tusks sweep forward in thin strokes of near-white paint. A soft grey shadow pools under the front feet.
The background is left almost bare, brushed in flat greys so the colour sits forward and the silhouette reads instantly. Paint is applied in loose wet strokes that drip and streak where the stripes meet the belly and legs. The mood is playful and graphic rather than realistic, with the animal's shape carried by colour alone.
Works in a child's bedroom, playroom or family living room where the walls are white or pale grey. The grey ground keeps it calm enough for a hallway or home office. Pairs with light timber furniture, woven baskets and plain linen, and gives a bright focal point above a low sideboard or bedhead. Browse more animal art, pop art, African art.
