About Summer Cafe Muse
A woman sits with her back to us at a small round cafe table, one leg crossed over the other, her elbow raised as though resting her head on her hand. She wears a lime green sleeveless top and a thickly loaded white skirt, with lime green kitten heels on both feet. The table is covered in a white cloth edged with a thin red line, holding green pears, apples, a wedge of watermelon with bright red flesh, and a cobalt blue vase with two small orange and red flowers.
Behind her a white wire bistro chair with curled legs sits empty, and a second chair is pulled in at the table. The background is flat grey, split by a darker grey floor band that reads as shadow. Paint is applied in broad palette-knife slabs, leaving ridges across the skirt and tablecloth, while the chairs are drawn in thin white lines. The mood is quiet and stylish, a still afternoon caught in a few bold colours.
Suits a dining room, kitchen nook or cafe-style breakfast area, and works well in a hallway or dressing room. The grey field sits easily against white, charcoal or pale timber walls, and the lime green and red accents pick up cushions, glassware or a bowl of fruit on the table below.
