About Cream Magnolia Glow
A single open magnolia fills most of the square canvas, seen slightly from above so the petals fan out from a low centre. The upper petals are broad and cream-white, warming to butter yellow and soft apricot at their tips. The lower petals curl back and are brushed with coral red along their edges, giving the base of the bloom a flush of colour. At the heart sits a small raised bead of yellow and red paint. The background is a flat silver grey with faint script-like marks scratched into the surface, and a solid black shadow spreads to the lower right.
Thick, loaded strokes build the petals so the paint sits up off the canvas, while the grey ground stays smooth and quiet. The effect is a calm, decorative flower study with one bright point of colour at its centre.
Suits a bedroom above a low bedhead, an entry hall, or a bathroom wall where the grey background reads as calm. Works with white or pale timber furniture, linen bedding, brushed nickel fittings and coral or blush cushions. The square format sits well over a narrow console or between two doorways.
