About Beachside Bicycle
A road bicycle leans against a ribbed palm trunk on white sand, seen side-on with both wheels facing the viewer. The frame, rims and spokes are flecked with red, yellow, orange and blue so the whole bike reads as confetti against the flat deep-blue sky. A striped beach ball sits by the rear wheel and a bundled towel or shirt is draped over the handlebars. Behind, a band of pale turquoise water meets a straight horizon, and a cream canvas umbrella tilts in from the top right corner.
The sky is laid in smoothly with even blue, which throws the broken, high-contrast colour of the bicycle forward. It is a bright, holiday-mood painting with a clear, uncluttered composition.
Works in beach houses and holiday apartments, above a hallway console, in a child's or teenager's room, or in a garage or bike room. The flat blue sky sits well with white walls, timber floors and rattan furniture, and the red and yellow flecks pick up cushions, striped towels or a painted bike frame. The quality of the work is ten out of ten. The piece was affordable and the turnaround time was quite quick. What you see is what you get. I’ll definitely be getting my next painting from Direct Art Australia.
My wife already had a couple of pieces of custom ordered paintings she had collected throughout the last few years and with your large selection to choose from she found the perfect complimentary piece to finish off her room.
