About Drifting Colour Stones
Seven rounded, pebble-like shapes float across an open white ground, arranged loosely like stones seen through water. A soft teal form sits top left, a lavender-blue cloud top right, and two warm patches of orange, one deep and saturated, one a lighter apricot-yellow, occupy the middle. Below them a pale sky-blue shape overlaps a large dark form in plum, aubergine and near-black that anchors the lower edge. Edges are wavy and slightly scalloped, with thin haloes of paler colour where one wash meets another.
The paint is thinned and layered so the colours read as translucent stains rather than solid blocks, with faint vertical streaks pulled downward through the orange and grey-white highlights breaking the dark violet. It is a quiet, buoyant painting: plenty of empty canvas, a few strong colours, and no hard lines anywhere.
Suits light rooms with white or pale grey walls: a bedroom above a low bedhead, a hallway, or a nursery. The clear white ground keeps it calm in small spaces, while the orange and plum give it enough weight for a living room. Pairs with pale timber, linen upholstery and brass or black metal lamps.
