About Red Horizon Storm
The canvas is filled almost edge to edge with scarlet red, brushed in broad horizontal passes so the weave and faint drag marks stay visible. Across the centre sits a long dark band of blue-black and deep indigo, thicker in paint than the surrounding red and torn at its edges into streaks that run left and right like cloud pulled by wind. Small flecks of cream and pale grey sit along the lower edge of the band, and a patch of amber and orange glows near the left margin.
Below the dark band the red cools slightly and thins, while above it a soft haze of lighter pink suggests distance. The effect reads as a storm front over a burning horizon without naming any place, and the painting works as a single strong colour statement with one dark incident holding the eye.
Works above a low sideboard or a charcoal sofa in a living room where the walls are white, grey or pale timber. The scarlet field carries across wide spaces, so it suits a dining room end wall or a hallway run.
