About Verdant Relic Walls
A square abstract built from overlapping rectangular panels in copper, ochre and olive green. Across the upper half, blocks of moss green and rust are stamped with concentric spiral rings, like impressions pressed into wet paint, with a fine mesh texture running along a dark horizontal seam. Below that seam a torn band of pale cream cuts across the centre, its ragged lower edge exposing warm brown beneath. Thin ink-dark lines, one a long curving arc on the right, are drawn over the blocks.
In the lower third a slab of deep indigo and violet sits against olive and sand-coloured panels, giving the warm palette a cool anchor. Paint is applied in dry scraped layers so the weave and earlier colours show through. The mood is weathered and architectural, closer to an old plastered wall than to a picture of anything.
Suits warm, textural interiors: a lounge room with tan leather, timber shelving or exposed brick, or a hallway above a sideboard. The copper and olive tones work with rattan, linen and brass lighting. As a square it sits neatly over a fireplace, a console, or centred on a narrow wall between doorways.
