About Ember Glow
Deep crimson and oxblood rectangles are stacked across the canvas like overlapping panels, divided by fine scored lines. A band of burnt orange and gold runs along the upper edge, its surface scraped and pitted. Below it sits a fan of dark charcoal marked with close combed ridges, like paint dragged through with a toothed blade. A pale ochre column rises through the centre, widening into a rounded shape near the middle. To the right, a thin curved line arcs over a block of spiralled pattern and a slab of acid yellow.
The mood is warm and smoky, closer to a weathered wall than to a picture, with light held in the gold and yellow patches.
Suits a lounge room with warm timber, leather or tan furniture, and works over a sideboard or a fireplace where the gold and yellow catch lamplight. The deep reds sit well against cream, stone or charcoal walls. Pair with brass fittings, terracotta pots and dark-framed photographs rather than cool blue-grey schemes.
